John R. Lewis Social Justice and Political Leadership Boot Camp

Myrtle Beach, SC — SigmaPAC 1914 Inc., in partnership with Three Point Strategies, Inc., will convene the first John R. Lewis Social Justice & Political Leadership Boot Camp. The boot camp will take place at the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity International Conclave in Myrtle Beach, SC, on August 3 and 4, 2021.

The SigmaPAC 1914 leadership team envisioned developing candidates for campaigns on different platforms of the nonpartisan spectrum. The participants will be engaged in a two-day intense curriculum led by Three Point Strategies, Inc. that focuses on proven strategies and the development of skills critical to successful campaigns.

Amid many political challenges regarding voting rights across the country. The offering of the Lewis Boot Camp will be the first time the Political Action Committee will offer political training in conjunction with a Divine Nine Organization. In addition, the Lewis Boot Camp will be the first time the political action committee facilitates political leadership training in partnership with a National Pan-Hellenic Council Organization. This aligns the vision of the Late Honorable John Lewis. SigmaPAC 1914 supports the passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act (also known as H.R.4) proposed legislation that would restore and strengthen parts of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, certain portions of which were struck down by the United States Supreme Court in 2013 by Shelby County v. Holder.

We believe that the John R. Lewis Social Justice and Political Boot Camp will believe the legacy of members of Phi Beta Sigma to continue the path of political excellence and social justice leaders.
